Detroit built this country's middle class on an assembly line, and on Tuesday the National Action Network came to make sure Detroit is in the room for the next one. In a single afternoon at the Northwest Activities Center, community members of all ages learned how to put artificial intelligence to work in their everyday lives, then turned the same room into a Voter Brigade with Rev. Al Sharpton at the podium, one week before the November 3rd midterm elections.
Community members of all ages came together to learn more about artificial intelligence and how to use these emerging tools in their everyday lives. NAN National Lead Facilitator Susan Hearn led an engaging and informative session that met people wherever they were, from first-time users to those who use AI every day, and sent them home with real work they created in the room.
Human-I-T provided laptops for participants and donated three laptops for a special raffle, so nobody sat on the sidelines for lack of a machine.

Laptops still open, Rev. Al Sharpton took the podium and the afternoon became a nonpartisan Voter Brigade, held alongside the Save America Movement. The message was plain: register if you have not, confirm your registration is active and in the right precinct, locate your early voting site, and bring somebody with you.
Any Michigan resident can still register in person at their city or township clerk's office with proof of residency, including on Election Day, and vote the same day until 8:00 PM. Polls are open 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 3rd.

Before the class, Rev. Sharpton stood with Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II at Wayne County Community College for the Vote Safe Michigan x Save America Movement GOTV effort, stressing that every vote must count.
