Today, we laid to rest our beloved Mother Katherine Nixon — a lifetime member of the National Action Network, a devoted member of Mother AME Zion Church, and one of Harlem's treasured matriarchs.

Mother Nixon dedicated her life to faith, service, and justice. She stood with our movement for generations — always speaking her mind, advocating for her community, and reminding us what it means to lead with conviction and love.

She was more than a member of NAN. She was family.

While we mourn her passing, we celebrate a remarkable life and the legacy she leaves behind.

May we honor Mother Katherine Nixon by continuing the work she believed in so deeply.
