NEW YORK, NY (August 19, 2026) — On what would have been Nolan Xavier Wells' 19th birthday, Reverend Al Sharpton and National Action Network (NAN) will join Nolan's parents, Attorney Ben Crump, loved ones, and supporters across the country for a National Noon-Day Prayer Vigil on Wednesday, August 19, at 12:00 p.m. ET.
The virtual vigil will bring together clergy, civil rights leaders and supporters to lift Nolan's loved ones in prayer, honor his life and reaffirm the continued commitment to stand with the Wells family as they pursue truth, transparency and justice surrounding the circumstances of his death.
Nolan was 18 years old when he died after being left behind on Horn Island off the Mississippi Gulf Coast on July 4, 2026. His family has continued to press for a full and transparent investigation into what happened that day.
